Downtown Memphis is booming with redevelopment. The South End is seeing a whole new look. Old business', warehouses, factories and apartment buildings are in the process of being converted in to Condo units, luxurious lofts, art galleries, restaurants, and thriving new business'.
There are currently 471 Condos under construction with 1,409 in the planning phase for the Downtown area. The residential population of the Downtown area is already the fastest growing population in the Memphis MSA, with an average of over 10% annual growth compared to just over 1% for the Memphis MSA as a whole. Currently the residential population is 28,000 with an estimated 2,000 per year growth rate.
